Cavity Wall Insulation Grants
Cavity wall insulation may be fully or partly funded through ECO4 until 31 December 2026, or through the Warm Homes: Local Grant in England. It typically saves around £110 to £380 a year, depending on your home.

Schemes Still Open
Two schemes can fund cavity wall insulation for eligible households. Funding is never guaranteed.
ECO4 Scheme
Ends 31 December 2026
Someone receives a qualifying benefit, such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit or Child Benefit (subject to income caps)
Gross household income under £31,000, or another council route, if your council is taking part
EPC D to G if you own your home, E to G if you rent privately. Not a fixed grant: may be fully or partly funded, and you may be asked to contribute
Warm Homes: Local Grant
England, run by councils
Household income usually £36,000 a year or less, or certain benefits, or an eligible postcode area
In England, privately owned (by you or your landlord), with an EPC of D, E, F or G
Owner-occupiers do not pay; landlords may need to contribute. Depends on council funding. Runs to 31 March 2028

Around £200 a year for a typical semi-detached house, and £110 to £380 across house types (Energy Saving Trust, July 2026 prices). Savings are estimates, not guaranteed.
Minimal Disruption
Installers usually work from outside, drilling small holes, blowing insulation into the cavity and filling the holes afterwards.
Check Suitability and Guarantee
Not every wall is suitable, so a survey should come first. Before work starts, ask whether it will be covered by a CIGA guarantee and get the details in writing.
