A little clarity goes a long way

You don’t need to have all the answers.

Solar, insulation, heating, funding. There’s a lot to weigh up. Start with what’s happening in your home and take it one decision at a time.

Tell us what’s happening at home

Cold rooms, rising bills or plans for an upgrade. Share what matters to you, even if you’re still exploring.

Understand the options

Use our guides to compare improvements and funding routes. A property assessment will help establish what is suitable.

Step 1 of 2What you need

What would make a difference?

Choose everything you’re considering. It’s fine to be unsure.

Which improvements are you considering?

No contact details needed until the next step. Your answers stay on this page until you send your enquiry.

Good questions, clear answers

A few things you might be wondering.

No pressure to choose an upgrade before you understand it.

Is it free to make an enquiry?

Yes. You do not pay to send an enquiry and you are not obliged to accept a quote. Installation and survey charges, if any, should be agreed directly with the provider before work begins.

Who will receive my details?

With your consent, your details are shared with installers who cover your area and do the work you need, so they can contact you about it. We may receive a referral fee if you go ahead. We are not your energy supplier, an installer, or a government body.

Do I need to know which upgrade I want?

No. Choose “Not sure yet” and describe the issue. Your property, existing heating, budget and priorities will help determine which improvements are worth exploring.

Can I apply if I rent my home?

You can ask for guidance. Most alterations require the property owner’s permission. Funding rules vary by scheme and tenancy, and social tenants should speak with their housing provider first.

Does completing the form mean I qualify for funding?

No. It is an initial enquiry. The relevant scheme administrator or installer must check eligibility, property suitability and available funding before any offer can be confirmed.

What should I check before choosing an installer?

Ask for a written scope, itemised quote, warranty terms and proof of appropriate qualifications. Check MCS registration for relevant renewable installations, Gas Safe registration for gas work, and any scheme-specific TrustMark requirements.

Struggling to pay your energy bill right now?

Speak to your supplier about payment support. Citizens Advice can help you understand your options.
