1. What this site is

• General information about home energy improvements and the funding schemes around them.
• An introduction service. When you send an enquiry, it goes to Better Home Hub, which may pass it to one or more specialists who cover your area so they can contact you. Specialists we introduce may pay Better Home Hub a fee.
• It is free for you to use and to send an enquiry, and you are under no obligation to accept a quote.

2. What this site is not

• We are not a government body, a scheme administrator, an energy supplier or a regulator, and we do not decide who receives funding.
• We do not carry out surveys or installation work.
• We cannot promise that a specialist will be available in your area or will contact you.

3. The eligibility checker and our guides

The checker and guides are a starting point. Results say which schemes you may be eligible for based on your answers; they are not an application or a decision. Only the scheme administrator, your council or an installer working under the scheme can confirm eligibility, after checking your circumstances and your home.

Scheme rules, funding and prices change. We review the content regularly, but always check the official source we link to before you rely on it or agree to any work. Costs shown are typical ranges, not quotes.

4. Specialists and installers

Any quote, contract, survey, installation, warranty or guarantee is between you and the company you choose. We are not a party to it. Before you agree to anything:

• Get a written, itemised quote and read the terms.
• Check the company's registrations on the official registers, for example Gas Safe Register for gas work, MCS for heat pumps and solar panels, and TrustMark for work funded by government schemes.
• Take the time you need. For contracts made in your home or at a distance, you normally have a 14-day cancellation period.

5. Using the site

Please give accurate details and only send an enquiry about a property you live in, own or have permission to act for. Do not misuse the site, send false enquiries or try to interfere with how it works.

6. Our responsibility to you

We are not responsible for the work, prices or conduct of companies you choose to use, or for decisions made by scheme administrators. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.

7. Your information

Our privacy policy explains what we collect, who it is shared with and your rights.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
